The Challenge: Sonoco Paper Products (a fortune 250 company) manages large volumes of recycled materials. Before seeking our help, they documented each phase of the process (manifesting, filing, reporting, invoicing) manually. The inability of this system to provide acceptable measures of security also raised many concerns about fraud.
The Resolution: After a comprehensive evaluation of Sonoco processes, I.S. Software Design Associates deveoped a 32-bit, Y2K-compliant Windows application. Here are its capabilities: it enters incoming loads, interfaces with the scales, captures all relevant load data, automates pricing functions, generates and distributes reports to the appropriate managers, exports information to spreadsheets, allows for dynamic real-time queries, produces invoices, supplies a variety of end of the month reports (including by vendor, job type, price, etc.), and provides complete security, virtually eliminating the risk of fraud. The finished product has been so successful that Sonoco initiated a changeover in 30 additional plants to the custom designed ISSDA system.
